Studying in the Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Nishant Tiwari is currently enrolled in B.A.LL.B.-4th year. He loves spending his time painting, sketching, acting, orating, writing, reading, researching, and counseling. A keeper of relationships, he aims to cultivate bonds wherever he works to build a cordial working atmosphere. He has worked the capacities of a legal and creative content writer, voiceover artist, graphic designer, team leader, and HR Manager of several companies, and has many publications to his credit, including an essay in the UNESCO New Delhi's book. He is keenly interested in the fields of research in corporate law, constitutional law, and international law. He aims to enter the fields of education and social work post-graduation.

BIOGRAPHY

I have a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering and Sanitation, and I have background in innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship.

In 2019, as a Final Thesis project, I conducted a project focusing on the environmental impacts associated to the rivers Jaguaribe and Pirangi estuary with integration of priority risks. Afterwards, not only was I selected to receive a scholarship for this project, but I also received the Honor to the Merit award, which means it was in the top 3 best projects of the university that year, out of 46 projects. In total, I had 29 articles published and 11 book’s chapters, at a national and international level.

In my last semester, I entered the Henri Nestlé international challenge, in which we were supposed to create a project to eliminate plastic straw. In this challenge, I prepared a package with the internal device attached, completely eliminating the plastic straws from the Tetra Pak packaging (long-life packaging). Afterwards, my project was presented to nine directors and the CEO of Nestlé, and it was selected as the winner out of 72 groups. I discovered my abilities in innovation and my proneness for entrepreneurship, reason why I decided to pursue new projects for sustainable solutions, starting my first company: the Greenews Environmental Solutions (Greenews).

Greenews has the purpose of spreading environmental awareness, providing sustainability with values and principles that aim to solve socio-environmental problems, such as water and land quality, solid waste, global change and impacts of coastal. In 2019, it was announced the Nestlé international challenge and certain companies approached Greenews to develop innovation projects for transport, coffins and recycle glass industries. Afterwards, I went to an international congress in Portugal to present two articles and took the opportunity to learn about the Blue Flag Certification, an award recognizing the commitment of local authorities to meet certain criteria regarding the environmental law, accessibility, health, cleanliness and safety. Due to this knowledge acquired, I was invited by the Secretariat of the Environment of the State of Ceará to implement the regional certification “Praia Limpa (Clear Beach)” in Ceará, Brazil, the first national certification of beaches in Brazil, important to conservation and protection of ecosystems in coastal zone.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I entered a National Innovation Challenge (“Desafio Retoma Ceará”) that aims to choose innovative proposals that will improve the economy in the state of Ceará. As the leader of the team, we won 2nd place and created a new delivery Startup that aims to have a social national impact through generating better working conditions for deliverers and fairer values for microentrepreneurs and consumers, humanizing and valuing the entire process.

BIOGRAPHY

Half Australian and Egyptian and studying for an undergraduate degree for a Bachelor of Science in Geography, Lela Gomersall is passionate about the intersectionality between the environment and the respective communities that live within them. She is passionate about research around the natural environment and is currently writing a dissertation about the effects of climate change of agriculture in Egypt. However, her passions lie with working in small scale grassroots projects including projects working on plastic pollution and changing the rhetoric around climate change and providing Egyptian women entrepreneurs with loans to be successful in their field.

Grace James is an award-winning game producer, climate-tech innovator, and founder of GreenQuest Innovations, a Nigerian game and technology studio creating Afro-futurist experiences that turn climate challenges into engaging stories, games, and learning experiences. She is also the founder of CropIQ, an AI-powered agricultural technology project helping farmers detect crop diseases and access actionable farming information.

Grace is the winner of the 2024 Fuze Talent Show (Tech Category) and a recipient of a World Meteorological Organization-backed grant for GreenQuest: Rescue Tides, a climate-resilience game designed to promote flood preparedness. She is also a She Got Game Fellowship alumna by Pro Helvetia and a UNDP Youth4Climate awardee.

Through her work, Grace combines games, emerging technology, and climate storytelling to make complex social and environmental challenges more accessible, interactive, and actionable.

BIOGRAPHY

Manogjna, a post graduate in sustainability studies, has a distinguished interest in energy economics towards decarbonisation of the economy. Her work is focussed on clean energy models and their adoption strategies, primarily in underdeveloped and developing countries. She believes in and advocates a sustainable lifestyle and, in leisure, loves to use her artistic skills to depict wildlife portraiture and regional heritage.

BIOGRAPHY 

The infinite verities of science and technology that go beyond one's general understanding have made Falguni take up a career in Biotechnology. She recently co-organized a TEDx Countdown event on Climate change and is currently working on another TEDx based on the theme 'Metamorphosis'. She has previously worked as a summer intern with local Sustainable-India societies researching climate change and green technology. Being an all-rounder she likes to explore different things and believes that we have just one life to be great and we should spend it doing a lot of great things. Most of the time, you'll find her in a 'zone' reading or contemplating about life and various ideas. She is also an avid learner and reader and likes to share acquired knowledge with others by teaching and is the proud founder of TeachEduCad - an online platform that provides learning solutions to people of all ages. Currently, she is pursuing her bachelor's in Biotechnological Engineering and aspires to work as a STEM researcher and scientist while exploring her other creative interests and skills.

BIOGRAPHY 

Green institute internship candidate, environmental engineer 2019 from Colombia, entrepreneur, restless soul, curious and very dreamy. Daughter, friend and boss (x3), defender of nature, fond of landscaping, cycling, long walks in the mountains and advocate for the improvement of our environment.

Since my early years I stood out academically, in college I did an academic exchange to Mexico in 2018, in 2019 along with my team we won second place in an event formulating a forest traceability system to control illegal deforestation in Colombia and I started a movement called Organic Mode since 2020.

I firmly believe that it is time for change, through example, consistency in daily actions and community work, will make the difference to find a common language where peace and well-being prevail as expressed by Alan Weisman.
