ICELGSD 2025 — THE GREEN INSTITUTE

The International Conference on Environmental Law and Governance for Sustainable Development 2025 (#ICELGSD2025) convenes scholars, legal professionals, policymakers, civil society leaders, and youth voices from across the world to critically examine how environmental law and governance can evolve to protect the planet’s natural heritage, uphold ecological justice, and catalyse sustainable development. The 2025 theme is Biodiversity, Nature-based Solutions and Sustainable Development: Legal Frameworks for Coherent Implementation.

As the global energy sector transforms, there is a growing need for skilled professionals to lead the shift to cleaner, more sustainable systems, particularly in oil-dependent countries like Nigeria. In response, The Green Institute, in partnership with ASELLMU, the Institute for Oil, Gas, Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development, and the International Law Association (Nigerian Branch), is launching a high-impact training program designed to equip professionals with advanced legal knowledge, sustainability strategies, and practical tools for navigating the intersection of energy, law, and environmental governance.
