My professional life is dedicated to the issues of public policy. I am a professor and director of the graduate program in Public Policy at The Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (Mexico Autonomous Institute of Technology) (ITAM). I obtained my Ph.D. at the University of Chicago. My main fields of interest are labor and health economics, and industrial organization and regulation. I wrote a book on the "Mexican Welfare State", which deals with the issues of social protection in a comprehensive way. Recently, I published a proposal to reform the Mexican health system (available at https://papers.ssrn.com/abstract=3777671).
