Introduction to Green Education serves as a prequel to The Principles of Green and Sustainability Science. In her typical writing style, Akinsemolu has authored a sustainability text specifically for global high school students and college freshmen. The text is an interactive sustainability resource material that leaves readers captivated, written in an unconventional mix of scientific exposition and artistic mastery. The book is sectioned into six learning modules with various subtopics for discussion. As a way of introduction, the book opens up with an exploration of the environment and ecosystem, highlighting real-time environmental challenges such as climate change and indiscriminate anthropogenic activities. Furthermore, the text provides a practical hands-on approach to living sustainably. Summarily, the text strives to provide a foundational framework to the principles of green encompassing environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
“In a world characterized by unprecedented changes, Adenike stands among the few professionals whose commitment to sustainable development is unwavering. As a passionate educator, she has taken to her pen once more in a bid to impact the lives of upcoming sustainability leaders. The text provides a challenging platform for young advocates of sustainable development to hone their intellectual repertoire. It is a complete resource tool for going green, and I strongly recommend it as a reading for global high schools. Enjoy your reading!”
