1. Call for Applications, For Women in Science

To identify and support women in science at each step of their careers throughout the world. This program is aimed at PhD or Post-doctoral candidates as well as Medical doctors doing research.

Award information: an award of EUR 15,000 and will participate in a training program specifically designed as a career booster

3. Minor Foundation for Major Challenges Small and Large Grants, UNIFOR

To support communication projects which advance the transition to a low carbon economy. Supports projects that support urgent, large-scale transformation, with a focus on changing policies and practices in public or private institutions.

Funding information: smaller grants of up to EUR 10,000. Projects above EUR 10,000 – typically in the range of EUR 20,000 to 200,000, although larger projects may be considered.

4. Call for Proposals, AI for Information Security, Amazon Web Services

Funds academic research and related contributions to open-source projects by top academic researchers around the world. ARA aims to fund projects leading toward a PhD degree or conducted as a part of post-doctoral work.

Award information: selected principal investigators may receive, unrestricted funds no more than USD 80,000 on average, AWS promotional credits, no more than USD 20,000 on average, and more.

6. Future Conservationist Grant, Conservation Leadership Program (see link for eligible countries)

Granted to teams of early-career conservationists who are conducting high-priority projects focused on protecting species listed as Data Deficient, Vulnerable, Endangered or Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List. Projects must take place in an eligible country, be led (or co-led) by a national of one of these countries, involve at least 3 people and last between 3-12 months.

Funding information: awards up to USD 15,000 each to develop leadership capacity of early- career conservationists who want to make a positive difference on the ground.

7. Inspiring Action: Annual Conservation Grants, Walt Disney Company (see link for eligible countries)

Awards grants to non-profit organizations leading comprehensive community conservation efforts and initiatives that protect species and habitats, and inspire kids and families to take action for wildlife and the planet.

Funding information: will consider requests for a maximum of USD 50,000 to be provided over a grant period of two years

11. New Call for Applications, Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund

To provide targeted grants to individual species conservation initiatives, recognize leaders in the field and elevate the importance of species in the broader conservation debate. Its focus is global and eligibility for grants will extend to all plant, animal and fungi species conservation efforts, without discrimination on the basis of region or selected species.

Funding information: maximum grant size is USD 25,000

12. Call for Proposals for Human Security Awareness and Usage Programmes, United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security (see link for eligible countries)

Proposals focused on addressing the multidimensional challenges and advancing the SDGs in LDCs, LLDCs, SIDS, and the Sahel region. Where appropriate, proposals that link with existing initiatives or Funds and apply the human security approach will be considered favorably.

Funding information: For these programs, the total contribution from the UNTFHS should not exceed USD 300,000 for a period of 12-18 months.

To support projects and people working on open and accessible technology-focused projects that promote human rights, Internet freedom, open societies.

Funding information: min. of USD 10,000 and max. of USD 900,000 for a year-long contract. OTF’s target support ceiling is USD 300,000; most receive between USD 50,000 and USD 200,000.

30. Call for Applications, Urgent Action Fund (Africa)

Urgent Action Fund-Africa is expanding its COVID-19 response towards supporting women, transgender and gender non-conforming defenders with disabilities to: develop and widely disseminate messages and information about the disease in disability friendly formats, simplify and/or translate complex COVID 19 information, and provide practical resources.

31. COVID-19 Young Leaders Fund

Program is designed to support young leaders who are tackling the Covid-19 pandemic on the frontlines. Applicants should be focused on SDGs 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. One Young World will prioritize initiatives which can use the funds to impact the maximum number of people to the greatest extent.

Funding information: One Young World recommends requesting between GBP 2,500 - GBP 10,000.

32. Global Innovation Fund (GIF)

This program seeks to invest in social innovations that aim to improve the lives and opportunities of millions of people in the developing world. Open to funding innovations in any sector as long as they can demonstrate their innovation improves the lives of those living on less than USD 5 PPP per day.

1. 2021 Japan-Nordic Joint Call for Strategic International Collaborative Research Program, Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (see link for eligible countries)

The aim of this program is to contribute solutions to challenges facing world today and to bolster Japan’s scientific and technological capabilities through collaboration with a broad range of countries.

Funding information: JPY 7.69 million per year for each project

2. Call for Applications on Social Justice Fellowship, Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies

Fellowship to conduct scientific research on global sustainability, particularly in the areas of climate change, energy transitions, governance for sustainable development, democratic transformations.

Benefits: Over USD 200,000 is available in prize funding to share among selected Solv[ED] Innovators. In addition to prize funding, selected Solv[ED] Innovators will receive mentorship and coaching from members of the MIT and MIT Solve community.

8. International Climate Protection Fellowship, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

Program seeks to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs by fostering prospective leaders with their undertakings and projects to combat climate change, to develop and implement adaptation strategies, to preserve ecosystems and biodiversity and to foster the sustainable use of the oceans and seas.

Funding information: the monthly fellowship amount – depending on career stage – is EUR 2,170, EUR 2,470 or EUR 2,670 for fellows. This includes a mobility lump sum and a contribution towards health and liability insurance.

9. Children’s Rights and Technology in Digital Age MOOC, Global Campus of Human Rights

10. Call for Female Applicants: AIMS-Canada Research Chairs in Climate Change Science, International Development Research Centre, Canada and Global Affairs Canada (GAC)

Each Chair will be provided up to USD 970,000 over a four-year period and tasked with executing a world-class research program able to contribute significantly towards building both the human capital and the scientific knowledgebase required to solve important climate change-related problems in Africa and beyond.

11. Scholarship for Displaced Students, Columbia University

Supports displaced students from anywhere in the world who are unable to complete their higher education.
