Course Description
Green entrepreneurship is a paradigm shifting concept from everyday entrepreneurship. It inculcates values of business and enterprise in harmony with equity and the environment. Green entrepreneurship is important for establishing business support and laying a structure for entrepreneurs who desire to manage sound businesses with a special focus on environmental and social impact. In this course you will learn how to generate innovative ideas that are economically viable, environmentally supportive and socially inclusive. You will also learn how to design a green business proposal that would incentivize investors and create sustainable impact. Furthermore, in the green space, you will learn to spot viable opportunities in renewable energy, smart agriculture, sustainable buildings, waste management and other ventures that engender sustainable development.
Conclusively, this course aims to transform economic idea generation to include environmental well being and social equity in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Agenda 2030.

Before graduating, students must propose a viable business plan for their individual sustainable business or expand on an already existing one.
Learning Outcomes
Understand the green business and clean technology trends and evaluate the available entrepreneurial opportunities.
Understand the major elements in writing a concise plan and understand the best ways of delivering an effective “elevator pitch.”
Know the main entrepreneurial process elements in light of green businesses.
Gain knowledge on issues of equity and debt funding, such as venture, seed, and angel capital.
Learners should have a sustainability-conscious entrepreneurial mindset, including self-directed learning, the capacity to accept failure, tolerance towards uncertainty and risk, creative confidence, and intentional green entrepreneurial curiosity.
Find green environmental issues that are worth solving.
Impart the ability to mobilize resources and people through industry analyze, primary customer research, and networks in the real world among students.
Students should be able to create business plans and presentations that create green entrepreneurial value.
Learners should have the ability to develop ideas and solutions for the future based on creative green entrepreneurial thinking and green innovation.
Duration
One (1) Term = Four Weeks
Note: Three weeks online study and one week for project work.
Before enrollment for this course, you are expected to make a financial commitment of $150. This commitment covers the tuition fee and issuance of a digital certificate, in exchange for access to educational resources geared towards capacity building. This certificate is endorsed by The Green Institute and partnering organisations. However, kindly note that the certificate will only be issued upon completion of course requirements.
